windows to the soul

We were talking about eyes and of course everyone wanted to see their own, so I took pictures. Can you guess whose eye is whose?

Race Day

Kaleb participated in the annual pinewood derby again this year. For the first time I let him cut out his own car on the band saw. Good news, he still has all his fingers and thumbs. For the first time he actually came in first place, with his self named car... random car.

Brace face no more!

Kaleb is too funny!

So Emmi came up to me and showed me this piece of paper that Kaleb had written. I was laughing so hard! Funny kid.

Oh the weather outside...

This last weekend was amazing. We had clear skies, sun and fun. Granted, it wasn't warm but that is why we own coats.

We were able to get the lawn mower fixed and the lawn mowed. We unsucessfully searched for our property stakes. Jennifer cleaned out the garage. We went to a friends house for a bonfire and s'mores. Good times all around.

On the way home from the bonfire the kids wanted to sleep outside on the trampoline. Seeing how we don't have a fenced yard Jennifer said they could, but only if I slept out there with them. Well, they really wanted to and I didn't want to disappoint, so I said ok (it got down into the 20's). Anyways, because I didn't want to end up the meat in the middle of a kid sandwich on the trampoline I elected to sleep underneath. Yep, four kids on the trampoline, a dad and two dogs under. It was a cold night but we all had fun.
So we slept out Friday night. Monday the lawn was mowed. Wednesday we had a snow day, no work and no school. The kids don't have school tomorrow either...work it to be determined.

In case you are wondering, yes, I am in shorts and barefoot jumping on the snow covered trampoline. I say we might have got six inches, but I heard one report of nine inches in town. Hopefully we get a few more tonight.

Family visits

We had a visit from Jennifer's sister and her son. It was nice to see them again. They left us a present.

His name is Trey. Actually, it is Atreyu, but we stick with Trey.
