How many kids does it take...

to start a fire?

apparently 4.

Redneck Scott

This is what Scott looks like when he works on the vehicles.

He was changing the brakes on the car, and I asked Kaleb to go help him. He needed to know how to do it when Scott leaves and I don't know how to do it. Kaleb was a trooper and helped, but informed me that he would not be changing the brakes by himself when Scott is gone, it was too advanced? What?? He is 10, he should be able to do that! I sure love my boys.

Silly Story of the day

So yesterday I was awakened by Brody, who told me that Mia was sick and puking. For those that know me I hate puke, so I got up, and she had made it to the toilet...hurray! (Forgetting that Scott is now home and can take care of it) Anyways, after putting her into the bath to clean her up, she was freezing. Well I happen to sleep with an electric blanket on and my side of the bed was nice and warm, so I put her in there with Scott, and went downstairs to finish up my young women lesson. (for those who don't know, I was called as YW President in December, that is a whole different story) Scott comes down a little while later and was telling me that Mia would not fall back to sleep, she kept talking to him about the light coming in the windows, asking him why he kept falling to sleep, wiggling all over. It was my secret ploy to get him out of bed, I figure if I couldn't fall back asleep, he should be up with me...insert evil laugh here!

Scott had to teach a lesson also, this causes a little problem for us. Emmi and Kaleb both said they would stay home with Mia. How nice of them. Mia chose Kaleb, (which really upset Emmi) On our way out the door I told Kaleb I would call him after sacrament and see how he was doing. Well I forgot to call because I went into the nursery to help out. On my way to YW, I see there are 2 missed calls on my phone and a new voice mail from Kaleb. I listen to it and he says
"Mom, this is Kaleb, you said you were going to call after sacrament, and I still haven't heard from you. Is everything Ok? Call me as soon as you get this message!" It was so funny! So I called him back and apologized for not calling, what a responsible boy I have.

What am I in for?

So this morning Brody really wanted to go to the store and spend some of his money. Well I did not get going as fast as he would have like. He told me "Mom, I have the keys, I will be outside waiting." To my surprise he was waiting the in the drivers set, with the set belt on, doors locked, engine running, and trying to get the car into drive. I about had a heart attack. This child sure keeps me on my toes!

A couple days ago, Scott had come home for lunch, and we were in the kitchen giving each other a hug, and Mia comes in and says, "Are you and Dad being romantic again?" We both busted up laughing. We asked her if she knew what romantic meant, and she had no idea, which made it even funnier.

Just a couple funny stories for the day.

It's been awhile

Since we have posted much of anything. We are all moved in, mostly settled, the kids are back to school, Scott is back to work and I finally have some much wanted free time! Yipee

Scott took the kids to play in the snow up at Mt. Baker. They had a blast, they went with 2 other families, and I stayed home by the fire. It was an awesome day had by all.

My friend Holly and I went to the temple, and Scott took her kids and ours to the Seattle Pacific Science center and the Space Needle. He is amazing, again we all had a great day.

Scott woke up with bed head and Mia decided she would help him with his hair. I think she sprayed half the water bottle on his head. It was so funny! Scott is such a sport.

It snowed here which is a rare occasion. Scott decided to shovel the driveway after his run...in shorts!

The kids built a couple snowmen. They purposely made one lying down. They told us that the one standing up tripped the other and it fell. I love the stick legs on that one. I also love that the other one looks like it is laughing!

We went to the Science Center again on Monday to see the Harry Potter exhibit. The kids seemed to enjoy it, but I thought it was a waste of money. You couldn't even take pictures. When we walked in, they had the sorting hat. Only 3 people were able to be sorted, out of about 50. Mia was sorted, she was so excited! I would have loved to get a picture of it. The science center also had an electric train exhibit. It was pretty cool.

Brody thought it would be fun to hold a hissing cockroach. (Like we didn't see enough of those in the south)

Emmi hates to get her picture taken, this one is just for her!

Those are a few things we have been up to. I am so grateful to have Scott home, and the kids have been having a blast with him. It has been awesome. He makes us laugh all the time.

Sorry this post has so much of Scott, but we sure love having him around.

the ceiling

One of our kids used our shower last night. It is upstairs, and is only a shower. Anyways, this kid decided it would be cool to fill it up with water by covering up the drain. Well, I don't think it got very full because the water leaked out the bottom door seal.

Another child told us the floor was wet, we figured the shower door wasn't closed all the way. When water started raining from the ceiling in the family room we figured out it wasn't due to an open door. Thankfully the kid admitted to what had happened so I didn't have to tear into the wall to find a leaking pipe.

Jennifer did say she wanted to repaint the ceiling in that room.
