The new bike

for Kaleb (his was stolen...if you haven't read previous posts) came from a yard sale this weekend. The bike is in pretty decent condition. Unfortunately I had to spend some money on it to get it in working order. See, it didn't have brakes. I mean, really, who needs brakes anyways, they only slow you down!

Anyways, after visiting a bike shop we were able to pick up new V-brakes, cable, lever and tube. With a little work we were able to get his bike running and sized today. I really hope he likes it.

As for Brody, he got new bearings in his steering tube on his old bike. Looks like he'll have this one for a while. I just hope it is easier to ride now, especially since I raised his seat too.

The little things

can sometimes be the most annoying. The strut to hold the hatch up in our van blew a seal a few weeks back. It is amazing how we don't give them a second thought, until their gone and we have to hold the hatch with our head while we grab groceries. Heaven forbid you accidentally let it slip and it slams closed on you, taking your elbow with it.

Broomsticks just don't do justice!

Well, the reason it took so long to replace is our warranty has expired and those little beauties run $182.00 EACH! Of course, if one goes it is best to replace them both.

Long story short, I finally caved and bought a pair online at a discount, total cost $235.00. The new ones are even beefier than the old...hopefully that means they are better. They came today and five minutes later - NO MORE BROOMSTICK!!!

Awesome Neighbor

So the last few weeks of work for Scott has included a lot of night and evening hours. So the kids and I were really needing a break from each other. So who else than our favorite neighbor Drew. He saw them playing outside and wanted to play so they had a tennis ball war. After the girls came in crying, I had to scold the boys for playing so rough. Well I also didn't feel like making dinner. It was just going to be chicken nuggets and fries, so I jokingly asked Drew what he was making us for dinner. Well he came through with fajitas. It was way better than chicken nuggets. After dinner he read the kids 3 books. By the time it was all said and done it was almost bedtime. I love that we have such an awesome neighbor that loves my kids so much. We are really going to be sad when we leave here.

Bad Hair Day

So today Mia decided I was taking to long before I would brush her hair, so she decided to comb her own hair. Usually she does a really good job. Today was not that day. I am not good with untangling things so Scott got the fun job of trying to get the comb out. After about 10 minutes he was able to get it, and he didn't even have to cut her hair!

Exercise and then....

So my friend Erica and I go walking together in the morning and sometimes after we are finished we cool down by playing games. Our favorite is guitar hero. Scott was sneaky and came in and got a really bad picture of us playing. I decided to post it for posterity!

Twins!

So some of you may know that I have always wanted to have twins, and I am jealous that so many of my friends have them and I don't. So I decided to make the best of it and just dress my girls like twins. Emmi didn't like it as much as Mia and I did, but she put up with me! I think they look so cute!

Boat Slide

So last night for Cub scouts we decided to make a boat neckerchief slide for the upcoming rain gutter regatta. I think Scott did a great job on it. ( I am not as creative as he his. I bought the stuff and he made them and hopefully no one finds out that I didn't make it hehehe) I think the Cub Scouts had a good time making them, but I am not sure because I didn't go. I know i'm a slacker! Actually Brody was running a fever and since Scott and I are both in scouts, Scott decided he would go this week since he has missed the last 4 week because of work. I really can't wait to move so that I won't have to be in Cub Scouts anymore, it is not my favorite thing!
