But mom the milk was chunky.....

Is what Brody told me this morning after I discovered at least 2 bowls worth of frosted mini wheats in the trash this morning. I really couldn't figure out why he would say that. Emmi had just opened up a new gallon of milk and her cereal was fine. Both Mia and Brody threw their cereal in the trash, I was really mad and told them they were not allowed to have anymore for the rest of the week and that they couldn't have anything until lunch. I know, mean Mom. You just don't throw away good food. Well it wasn't until a few minutes ago that I figured out why it tasted bad and had chunks.... They had used the spoiled buttermilk! Yuck!!! So now I need to apoligize, I hate apoligizing to a 4 and 6 year old! Just thought I would share the "chunky, yucky" story. I guess I should clean out my fridge more often.

We made it!

So I thought I would update you all on our adventure moving to Florida. After the truck was packed, the house was cleaned and my drivers making it to Texas, we were able to leave about 5:30 pm on Thursday May 21st. My friend Holli flew out on Wednesday and my cousin Courtney came on Thursday. Holli drove the car, Courtney drove the van with all the kids (thanks Courtney!) and I drove the big moving truck. Right before getting in it to leave I had a little bit of a panic attack. The thought of driving the big truck over 1000 miles hit me and I was terrified. Holli was nice enough to offer to drive it, but I knew it was something I had to do. After getting flipped off and not being able to figure out the commercial truck gas station, things improved. We drove the first night and made it to Beaumont, Texas. We got a late start the next day, and didn't make it all the way the next day like I had hoped. We drove through the worst rain storms I have been in for a long time. So on Saturday around 2:00 local time we finally made it to our new house. Scott was supposed to have some people come and help unload, but for a lot of it, it was Holli and Scott unloading. I just sat and watched. I figured I loaded half the thing myself, Scott could unload it. Around 5:00 a couple guys finally showed up and Holli and I just sat and watched the guys unload the rest. Courtney and the kids decided to take a dip in the pool. It was a little cold for my taste, and I waited until it warmed up a little more. The rain did stop for a few hours for the truck to get unloaded, but as soon as it was finished, the rain started up again. It ended up raining the next few days, with a few breaks for us to be able to swim in the pool, and go to the beach. I guess it was better that it was raining because then I had to unpack boxes. Scott said he would unpack everything, but that didn't last more than 5 minutes. If I would have waited for him, it still would not be finished. He has been really busy an work, so even though we are here, he still isn't around much.

I was sad to see my friend Holli leave. She flew out on Thursday. I was really excited that she called me after she got home. I really didn't think she would talk to me again for a long time. We threw her into the pool after she put up a great fight, and she was not happy at all. So thanks Holli for all your help and still talking to me, and you know that the water felt great :)
Courtney flew out on Sunday and we were all really sad to see her go, hopefully she will be able to come again soon. While she was here we took her to SeaWorld, and we all had a blast.

So all in all, it wasn't too bad, but I will never Move again myself!!! I told Scott that if I ended up with a few grey hairs he was to blame! Sorry for the long and possibly boring post, but I just wanted everyone to know we made and we sure miss all our Texas friends. I miss my little house with carpet, this house is huge and all but the bedrooms are tile and my feet are killing me! If it wasn't for my husband and the pool (I know pretty shallow of me) I would be back there in a heart beat. I never thought I would ever say that about Texas! You have brainwashed me too!

It does shine here!

See, I attached a picture from today to prove it. Sorry we haven't updated. There is a lot to say, but things are busy. The house is mostly unpacked (a huge thanks to Jennifer and her family).

The SUNSHINE state

isn't living up to it's name right now. For the last few days it has been constant clouds and rain. It has rained so much I've had to go out and pump water OUT of the pool! My guess would be we have received around 6" in the last three days.

The forecast for the rest of the week...rain and thunderstorms. I love the thunderstorms but I didn't know I moved to Seattle.

Anyways, Jennifer is loading the moving truck today. After the kids get out of school tomorrow they start the journey east. I can't wait to see them again. It will be a great weekend, even if I will be unpacking on memorial day.

Pray for a break in the rain when it comes time to unload the moving truck. :-)

Living alone

but still eating like I'm at home. I figured just because my furniture consists of a camp chair, mattress, folding table and camping gear doesn't mean I have to eat crap. I have actually been eating really healthy, and have only eaten fast food two times since getting here, both times consisted of a hot dog at costco. I love that place, only $1.50 for a foot long hot dog and a drink, you can't beat that.

Oh, and these two beauties found their way into our screened pool area the other day. They sure didn't like me picking them up to get them out. Oh well.

So the snakes turned out to be a couple of Black Rat Snakes, about three to four feet long. They just wanted out and away from me, but couldn't make it happen. It's funny, because they shake their tails like rattlesnakes when threatened and cornered. Silly snakes!

Brody is six!

So on May 1st Brody turned six. I was really sad, I told him he needed to stay five because for me that is such a fun age. He had a great day. At school he took dinosaur cookies and juice for his class. His teacher Mrs. Unterbrink was so awesome and made him feel very special on his birthday. He brought home a bag of goodies from her. She is a great teacher! After he got home, we got ready for his birthday party / going away party. We had a great turnout. I think there were almost 60 people who showed up. We are sure going to miss our Texas friends.

Our New House!

So here is a little video clip of our new house. Scott is in Florida already, and I am still in Texas packing and finishing up things here. He always has the easy job! The kids and I will be joining Scott memorial day weekend. Sorry for the lag in posts, it has been crazy around here for the last month. I have about 10 posts to post, I will get to them soon!
